I spent the past 10 years in Digital and Interactive Broadcasting, having worked for such companies as the BBC, Red Bee Media and Virgin Media.
The ideas of digital file based delivery of video and other content has been around for a considerable time now, but it is the last two to three years that has become very interesting and it’s only now that we can really start streaming video content with confidence to users’ home networks.
Video, Webcasts, whatever you want to call it, essentially holds the same meaning as film and theatre do, it’s the message that counts – content in a context that is really the important thing. There are many bells and whistles type of things going on, but without a context and backed up by considerable clarity about what it is you’re trying to say, it is just another clip on the Internet.
I am very interested in my local community. That is why I am focusing my endeavours on being regional for now, saying to local communities, ‘let’s together build this enterprise and firstly see to each other, before we take the message to other communities like us.’
I’m very committed to challenge the local community to set a goal of becoming the biggest community driven Internet TV channel over the next year!
I’ll work with you, help you, welcome your ideas on how we can grow and build this channel and at the same time, provide you with the opportunities to promote and grow your business through using this medium.
I’ve worked with the best and wish to share that experience with everyone in my community. I also believe that the real resources lie within our community and shall look forward to the innovation that will come from within.
Come and join me and others like me to make 2011 the year the we embraced the words ‘big society’. We all need each other in the movement forward.
Thank you
